Who can rent?

All drivers must be at least 25 years of age with a current and valid driver’s license in hand. We complete a DMV check on all drivers. Those who do not pass, will not be able to drive our vehicles. International drivers are required to have an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) as well as a current passport.

Where can i take my rental?

You can take our rentals on dirt roads and back country trails, as long as you adhere to our terms and conditions. We strongly support support leave no trace principles, so please only drive on existing roads and "jeep" trails, camp in designated campgrounds or dispersed camping areas, and be mindful of your footprint when you are on your expedition.

Our vehicles may be used on dirt roads and back country trails, BUT ARE NOT to be used for serious "rock-crawling" or in designated off-road areas, like OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) parks. They are also NOT allowed to be driven in soft sand, saltwater or brackish waterThe use of our vehicles in these applications and settings is strictly PROHIBITED and you will be liable for any and all damages to the vehicle, tires, and additional equipment, at Wonderland Expedition’s discretion. Towing charges and any additional expenses resulting from breakdown or accident will also be your responsibility. Travel within the US and Canada is permitted. Travel into Mexico is currently prohibited.

insurance and roadside assistance

Proof of insurance is required prior to vehicle pick up and may be purchased through Wonderland Expeditions or acquired via a binder on your own personal insurance. We automatically include insurance coverage on all of our rentals that provides up to $1 million in liability insurance and up to $250k in comprehensive and collision coverage. 

You may also purchase additional roadside assistance coverage through us if desired and we of course recommend personal coverage as well, such as AAA and/or travel insurance. Additionally, we’ll personally respond as quickly as possible in the event of an incident so that we can get you back on the road and enjoying your adventure.

ARE Dogs ALLOWED?

Dogs may be allowed but require approval prior to booking. Dogs are never allowed on beds or seats meant for people. For their own safety, and for the cleanliness of our vehicles pets are required to be in a soft crate or similar whenever in the vehicles.  For all our vehicles, there is an additional $100 fee for cleaning. Also, we can provide you with a 'dog towel' to keep those paws mud-free!

When can i PICK UP/DROP OFF my Rental?

We are open by appointment, so please schedule your pickup and drop off times at the time of your reservation. If your plans change, please contact us so we can be ready for you! Our default pick up time is 9AM and our default drop off time is 5PM, 7 days a week.

Pick Up: We want to get you out on your adventure as fast as possible, therefore our default pickup time is when we first open at 9AM. However, you can pick up your vehicle anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM, 7 days a week, but make sure you select your desired pickup time in your reservation. If you want to get on the road even sooner, we can accomodate a pickup as early as 8AM, but please let us know at least 1 week in advanced so we can be sure we can accomodate you.

Directions for pickup: All of our vehicles are kept in a covered warehouse space at located 6800 NE 59th Place, less than 10 minutes from PDX! Go to the end of 59th Place and the parking lot is on your right. When you arrive, if you don't see us waiting by your vehicle parked in the lot, call or text us at 971-808-4793 and we will meet you at the main door (under the big X). If you have requested an airport pickup, please make sure you send us your flight information!

Drop off: We want to give you as much time adventuring as possible, therefore our default drop off time is 5PM. However, you can drop off your vehicle anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM, 7 days a week, but make sure you select your desired drop-off time in your reservation. If you need a little more time we can accommodate a drop off as late as 6PM, but please let us know at least 1 week in advanced so we can be sure we can accomodate you.

Late fees: Pick-up or drop-off when performed outside of the designated hours will be assessed a fee of $25/hour after your designated drop off time. No refunds are applied in the event of a late pick-up or early drop-off. After hour pickups/dropoffs may be available for an additional charge.

What can I expect when I pickup my rental?

We will walk you through where everything is and how to use everything when you arrive. Our walkthrough and orientation usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour, so make sure to account for that time in making your plans.

Can i leave my vehicle while I am on my trip?

No, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate parking on our premises for vehicles that are not ours. However, PDX airport has both long and short term parking options and is less than 10 minutes from our office.

What is the deposit to rent?

A reservation deposit of 50% of the total rental is required to secure your booking. Your reservation is not secured until this deposit has been made. Full payment of the remaining rental balance and the security deposit is required one day prior to pick-up. We accept credit and debit cards for rental charges and purchase must be made through our website. 

What is the CANCELLATION POLICY?

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Wonderland Expeditions. Wonderland Expeditions reserves the right to cancel a reservation at our discretion.

- A $200 processing fee applies to cancellations over three months (90 days) prior to the pick-up date.

- Cancellations between two weeks (14 days) and three months (90 days) of pick-up will be charged the 50% deposit.

- Cancellations within two weeks of pick-up (or no show) will be charged 100% of the rental cost.
